In a battle between rival technologies, it´s LCD that outperforms DLP at this price level. Panasonic´s PT-AX100E is the clear class leader by way of its uncompromised specification, flexibility, user-friendly functionality and exceptional image quality - even typical constraints like the chickenwire effect are almost invisible. Our second LCD design, Hitachi´s stylish PJ-TX300, comes second with a solid performance characterised by impressive contrast and bright colours but the LCD lattice is more noticeable and detail can occasionally seem soft by comparison. Of the DLP models, Acer´s competitively priced but average performing PH730 is more suited to home cinema use while BenQ´s MP770 flexibility and business-friendly features should only be sought out if you need a projector primarily for the office that can also be used in bright homes.
