Test: Einzeltest: Bayan 3 speaker dock
Zitat: The good: + Few outside audiophile circles will have heard of Bayan, but one look at the Bayan 3 is enough to leave anyone wondering why. The Bayan 3 is a beautifully constructed bit of kit, made almost entirely from wood in order to reduce sound distortion. Bar the wood construction, you’d think it was an Apple product. Sound is comparable, if not better than more expensive speaker docks out there. You could purchase another system three times the cost and find few differences. For a system that costs just £100 the Bayan 3 offers superb sound quality, not just for bedroom use, but for the living room, too. There’s little to no distortion whatever genre you listen to, at higher volumes, or at lower volumes. Colour us impressed. From such a small unit, the Bayan 3 sounds very powerful indeed, capable of filling very large rooms, let alone the bedroom or kitchen. The ability to listen to your music through the treble or bass is another nice touch, since sound comes from two separate sources, as is the ability to tweak the bass and treble levels to customise the listening experience further. The Bayan 3’s remote we find also has a good range when controlling your iPod or iPhone from it. You could comfortably stand from one end of a long room around 8 metres long and find it still works. It also has a 3.5mm input for headphones and it’ll also charge your iPhone or iPad while it is docked.
The bad: - The design won’t be to all tastes. And we’re not sure its wood construction would look so great if used in the kitchen. However we can’t hold that against the Bayan 3 too much. Soundwise, the Bayan 3 can appear overly bassy at close quarters, and it isn’t in stereo. Instead you’ve got a stereo effect. Mind you, a very impressive one at that.
As sub £100 speaker docks go the Bayan 3 is one of the best you’ll find. It sounds just as good as speakers costing up to three times as much. It’s a great speaker dock for Apple fans who like their gadgets with that Apple-like touch.
