Test: Einzeltest: FSP Aurum 600 Watt 80+ Gold Power Supply
Zitat: The looks of the FSP Aurum series will easily appeal to many of the would-be PC builders out there, as well as those of us who are in the market for a new power supply. The combination of black and gold makes it a real looker, without being overly flashy. In this case the style and performance go hand and hand, with the 80+ Gold certification matching the gold trim, which can’t be said about all power supplies. The peak level of 72A across the quad 12V rails and maximum unit output of 600 is enough to run most mid-range video cards in SLI or Crossfire (which this unit is certified for), or single higher end cards like the Radeon HD 6970 or GTX 570. The FSP Aurum offers many protections against overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature. All of these should make anyone confident in purchasing one of these units. If that is not enough, then the unit is still backed by a five year warranty right from FSP. FSP sells the Aurum directly for $115, which makes it slightly more expensive than most other 600W power supplies. However, one must remember these other 600W units are likely not Gold 80PLUS certified either! The Aurum does not come in a modular option, nor does it currently come in a models larger than 700 watts. So cable management and powering the extreme gaming machines may be an issue. So those with higher wattage requirements will have to wait for a higher output model to arrive, which will hopefully bring a modular model or two also.
