Test: Einzeltest: Sony Ericsson W980 Walkman
Zitat: Pros: Great music abilities, plenty of storage, FM transmitter, good battery
Cons: Small display, average camera, no memory card slot
The Sony Ericsson W980 is a great phone, especially if you´re after a device with a top-notch music player. With its included high-quality headphones, 8GB of storage, motion controls, and stereo Bluetooth, there aren´t many phones on the market that equal this device´s music abilities. Throw in an FM transmitter, stereo loudspeakers, and album art/visualizations and it´s difficult to think of a superior music device. Sure, the iPhone initially springs to mind, but it loses the in-built FM transmitter and motion controls, and comes with inferior headphones. It´s a shame that the W980 doesn´t have a 3.5mm headphone port built-in, but with the included in-line adaptor this isn´t too much of an issue. If I could add anything to the W980 it´d be a flash and autofocus for the camera, as the 3.2 megapixel unit would be much better with these additions. A larger display would also be nice, as the smallish screen hampers web browsing and video playback somewhat. Overall I give this device a "Highly Recommended" rating, as it aims to be a great music device, and undoubtedly scores a home-run.
