Test: Einzeltest: Thermaltake Luxa2 LM200 HTPC Case
Zitat: There are tons of HTPC cases on the market, ranging in price from $50 to $1000. The LM200 till lands right at the one third price point of that price range. For the $300 plus asking price, the LM200 gives you way more than that of a cheaper model. Features like the VFD display, heavy duty aluminum panels and modern good looks are more than you would get in a low end case and chances are you won´t find in a lower priced unit. We fell in love with the appearance of the LM200. There was no denying the instant glamour that the unit has to offer. The VFD display is one of the key features of the LM200 and understandably so. When in the same area of a A/V reciever and other stereo components the LM200 looks right at home. The display can be read from a fair distance and with the blue tint of the display it will blend in well with the rest of your equipment. With the iMON remote, you can control all the functions of the LM200 and installed software. You can wow all your friends with this one. A unique feature of the LM200 is the drive mounting. We were surprised to see such a way of doing this. It was very simple to do but we were limited to just two hard drives. This would be a little disappointing if you want to store all your music and video in one location. But then again, that´s what we have home servers and external drives for. Good thing this case is made of aluminum as it helps the single 120mm fan with heat exhaustion and dissipation. We were surprised just to see one fan inside, but after testing the system for a few days nothing overheated or crashed. I guess the aluminum really does work. Overall, we loved the LM200 as it was classy and has a stylist look all its own. If you can fork out the extra money, the LM200 would be a nicer unit to play around with because of the large seven inch in the center of the unit replacing the VFD display of the regular LM200. We wish we could have bought you this model but we are more than happy with the LM200 and won´t give it up for anything. The LM200 will set up back about $320.
