Behalve door het schermpje is de Western Digital My Passport Studio ook duurder door de firewire 800 interface. Voor pc-gebruikers is deze helaas niet heel nuttig, al is de schijf ook via firewire 400 wel iets sneller dan via usb 2.0. Gebruikers van een Mac hebben uiteraard wel profijt van firewire 800.
