Test: Einzeltest: Sony HDR-PJ780VE Handycam
Zitat: The bad: - There´s not much to fault the Sony HDR-PJ780VE Handycam for, as the image quality is superb for a relatively small camcorder, and the built-in projector is the icing on top. Unfortunately though, while the camera itself shoots high-def clips, the projector only outputs at a 854×480 resolution, meaning we don´t get to see just how crisp our videos really are as they´re squashed down to a smaller size. There´s also the matter of the touchscreen, which can be unresponsive at times and slow to swipe through the menus. We found it quicker to scroll through the menu with the hardware controls. We´d rather have a five-way scrollwheel like found on Sony´s NEX range of cameras, but what´s currently on the HDR-PJ780VE works fine for just picking up and hitting record - although we would love some more finesse. Cost is also another factor to think about, as it´s mighty pricey for a piece of kit that could seem gimmicky or superfluous to some. The optical image tech and video quality is no doubt superb, and the projector is nice to have, but we do wonder if it´s worth going for a similarly priced DSLR with top video quality instead, as we´d then have a range of lenses to choose from, as well as a lot more versatility.
Sony´s new Handycam is a top top-end piece of kit, but whether it´s worth the £1,199 price tag is another question. It´s not the most pocket friendly, but if you´re after top-end image quality and a built-in projector to impress friends and family, the HDR-PJ780VE is well worth looking at.
