Chess Base A Complete Guide for Black against the Anti-Sicilian A1072536849
Have you always wanted to play the Sicilian as Black, but been discouraged by the abundance of options for White? Here is the solution to becoming a lifelong successful Sicilian player! In a separate course, all the critical lines of the Open Sicilian (Taimanov Variation) were covered. In this course, all the relevant Anti-Sicilians are covered in depth. Starting with the move-order 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 e6, White has been prevented from playing a variation with 3.Bb5. Popular alternatives on move 3 are tackled first (3.b3, 3.g3, Kings-Indian Attack etc.). On the second move, White has many more options to deviate from the Main Lines, but since White often has the opportunity to transpose back to the Open Variation, it’s strongly recommended to study both volumes. The lines arising from the Closed Sicilian Variation with 2.Nc3 and the Alapin (with 2.c3 or 2.Nf3 e6 3.c3) are effectively countered as well, to avoid any move-order problems. Last, but not least, popular systems at club level, e.g. the Smith-Morra and Wing Gambit should no longer be feared! The video course has been complemented with 24 exercises to test both your theoretical and practical knowledge, 10 positions to play out to develop a better feeling for these types of positions, as well as a database with over 230 model games. Video running time: More than 7 hours With interactive training including video feedback Extra: Training with ChessBase apps – Memorize the opening repertoire and play key positions against Fritz on various levels Including download & stream for iPad, tablet etc: can be unlocked with imprinted key System requirements: Minimum: Pentium III 1 GHz, 1 GB RAM, Windows 8.1, DirectX9 graphic card with 256 MB RAM, DVD-ROM drive, Windows Media Player 9 and internet connection for program activation. Chess Base Middlegame Secrets - Vol. 5 A1072462480
For a chess player, chess pieces are like specific tools in a toolbox. We need to know how best to use them, just as a craftsman knows his tools. We shouldn’t use a screwdriver to hammer in a nail; and we shouldn’t position the knights on the edge of the board. Knights are mysterious creatures. They add irrational content to any position. However, in this video tutorial you will learn how to tame them. We will focus on how to create an outpost for a Knight and how to maneuver with this piece to get maximum activity from it. We will talk about the knight’s soul mates: the queen and the passed pawn. We will also focus on positions where knights are vulnerable or hopelessly passive: typically when they are behind the pawn chains in which knight are vulnerable or hopelessly passive: typically, this happens when they are located behind the pawn chain. • Video running time: 4 hours 39 minutes • Extra: Training with ChessBase apps - Play-out-positions against Fritz on various levels Including download & stream for iPad, tablet etc: can be unlocked with imprinted key Jan Markos is a Slovak chess grandmaster, coach, and author, a former European Youth Champion. Chess Base The smooth Scandinavian Defence with 3…Qd8 A1063263435
Are you looking for a simple, easy-to-learn repertoire against 1.e4? Then the Scandinavian with 3…Qd8 is yours! After 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Nc3 the retreat 3…Qd8 leads to a very solid type position for Black. At the expense of two tempi, the pawn structure has been defined, and hence a clear developing plan can be made for our minor pieces. The first goal is to get the light-squared bishop out to g4, then placing the pawns on c6 and e6. Now Black has a rock-solid setup and good chances to build up pressure against White’s pawn on d4 and/or use the d5-square as an outpost for any of their pieces. This video course offers you a complete Black repertoire with 1.e4 d5. Covering all the critical attempts for White to punish Black’s provocative approach, as well as all the relevant minor options on move 2 and 3 for White. The emphasis is on understanding the ensuing middlegames and endgames. In the interactive part (20 exercises with multiple questions) you’ll get a chance to apply some concrete theoretical knowledge, as well as test your understanding of typical positions arising from this opening. After studying all the material, you will likely get a position that you are more familiar with than your opponent! • Video running time: more than 7 hours (English) • With interactive training including video feedback • Extra: Training with ChessBase apps - Memorize the opening repertoire and play key positions against Fritz on various levels • Database with model games System requirements: Minimum: Pentium III 1 GHz, 1 GB RAM, Windows 7, DirectX9 graphic card with 256 MB RAM, DVD-ROM drive, Windows Media Player 9 and internet connection for program activation. Chess Base Master Class Vol. 17: Boris Spassky A1072267713
