Recommended: PC Intel Core i7, 2.8 GHz, 4 GB RAM, Windows 10 or 11 , DirectX10 graphic card (or compatible) with 512 MB RAM or better, 100% DirectX10 compatible sound card, Windows Media Player 11, DVDROM drive and internet connection for program activation.

Chess Base How to slay the Sicilian Vol. 1 A1058575145
Chess Base How to slay the Sicilian Vol. 1 A1058575145
Do you struggle against the Sicilian? And would you like to play the Open Sicilian but shy away from it because you fear the many lines you might have to learn? Then this video is a must for you! Dutch Grandmaster Roeland Pruijssers and International Master Nico Zwirs created a complete repertoire against the Sicilian that is based on the Open Sicilian and that is easy to learn. They recommend the Maroczy set-up (e4-c4), the English Attack (Be3,f3 and Qd2) and set-ups with Be3/Qf3. Fighting the Sicilian with one of these three setups makes the Open Sicilian much more easy to play. Sometimes this opening approach will lead to transpositions that will baffle players with Black, e.g. if they wanted to play the Najdorf but suddenly find themselves in a line of the Taimanov! This video offers a strong and safe repertoire against the Sicilian and comes with a lot of new and fresh ideas. It is ideal for club players and titled players alike! The whole series is divided in three parts that deal with 2…d6, 2…e6 and 2…Nc6 respectively. The entertaining presentation of Pruijssers and Zwirs help to understand this powerful recipe against one of the most popular openings against 1.e4. Watch the video and get ready to slay the Sicilian! Vol.1 – 2...d6 3.d4 Dragon, Dragodorf, Najdorf, Scheveningen, 5th move alternatives (e5, Bd7), Classical Sicilian Video running time: over 13 hours (English) With interactive training including video feedback Further Training chapter with repertoire and play features System requirements: Minimum: Pentium III 1 GHz, 1 GB RAM, Windows 7, DirectX9 graphic card with 256 MB RAM, DVD-ROM drive, Windows Media Player 9 and internet connection for program activation. Chess Base Basic Opening Strategy A1070006206
Chess Base Basic Opening Strategy A1070006206
In this video course you will learn about basic chess opening strategies, which can help you start your chess game. Become familiar with the most famous chess trap, winning in just four moves: Scholar’s Mate - and how to defend against it. But there is so much more! You will become acquainted with the Golden Rules of the Opening, and the importance of the centre - and what happens if you neglect these aspects. Why it’s usually not a good idea to bring your queen out early, and how to punish this mistake. Did you know your f-pawn is the Achilles heel of your position, and that moving it may lead to immediate catastrophe? Another typical pattern is the bishop pinning the opponent’s knight, as moving it hangs the queen. How to exploit this weak spot in your opponent’s position and learn to deal with this unpleasant motif. Playing the opening optimally doesn’t guarantee victory, but a good start to the game guides you in the right direction. What are you supposed to do after having applied all the basic opening principles? Plus understanding what the positions need from you in the middlegame! 50 exercises have been added, so that you can practice, and see if you are able to apply these general opening rules. But you’ve got to think critically, as every position is unique, and sometimes a standard idea might not be recommended for tactical reasons. • Video running time: 4 h 17 minutes • With interactive training including video feedback • Database with 50 e xcercises System requirements: Minimum: Pentium III 1 GHz, 1 GB RAM, Windows 8.1, DirectX9 graphic card with 256 MB RAM, DVD-ROM drive, Windows Media Player 9 and internet connection for program activation. Chess Base Basic of Chess Strategy A1070075156
Chess Base Basic of Chess Strategy A1070075156
In this video course you are making your first steps in mastering strategic concepts. As the legendary player Philidor (1726-1795) said: ‘’pawns are the soul of chess’’ and in this course on basic chess strategy you will see his quote is still true today! After a brief introduction to each piece, covering their strengths and shortcomings, our focus will be on pawns and their specific functions (protecting your king, supporting pieces and restricting opponent mobility) and how they impact the course of the game. Some pawns are strong, others are weak, but when is a pawn weak and how do you take advantage of it? When there are weak pawns, weak squares are never far away! What are weak squares and how do your pieces benefit from occupying such a square? A rook is a powerful piece, and in the topics “open files” and “seventh rank” you’ll see that sound positional play is closely linked with attacking chess. All these elements should be taken into consideration when planning to improve your own pieces or weaken your opponent’s position. The interactive format offers you a chance to test your knowledge! In 77 excercises you’ll be able to apply your newly acquired knowledge! Video running time: 5 hours Interactive tr aining including video feedback Including download & stream for iPad, tablet etc: can be unlocked with imprinted key System requirements: Minimum: Pentium III 1 GHz, 1 GB RAM, Windows 8.1, DirectX9 graphic card with 256 MB RAM, DVD-ROM drive, Windows Media Player 9 and internet connection for program activation.
Chess Base A Complete Black Repertoire versus the English, 1...e5 A1061736505
Chess Base A Complete Black Repertoire versus the English, 1...e5 A1061736505
Nicholas Pert: A Complete Black Repertoire versus the English, 1...e5 The English is becoming increasingly popular as White players avoid the heavy theory of 1.e4 or 1.d4 and hope to achieve a small advantage in a safe position. A lot of club players tend to focus on openings against 1.e4 and 1.d4 but neglect to study a response to the English. 1...e5 is a theoretically sound response with good chances of equality or better in all variations, and in this video series I provide a complete Black repertoire based on this move. I have several years of experience playing 1...e5 against the English, and it is used regularly by many of the world’s leading grandmasters. Anish Giri is known for his opening preparation and his ideas feature heavily in the chapters. The repertoire is designed for players who want a complete, independent repertoire against 1.c4. 1...e5 is the 2nd most popular response to the English after 1...Nf6, and doesn’t allow direct transpositions into 1.d4 openings. In many of the chapters Black equalises, and when the White players become a bit adventurous or don’t know how to handle the positions, Black can hope for an advantage. The two positions that feature most heavily are the Four Knights English, 1.c4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. Nf3 Nc6 and the systems with early g3, 1.c4 e5 2. g3 c6. In both of these positions I have studied the main variations in depth, but also covered some of the minor lines. The same themes have a habit of coming up regularly and I have attempted to present the main ideas of these key positions as well as the theory in order to help the viewer’s understanding of this opening. • Video running time: 4 hours 50 min (English) • With interactive training including video feedback • Extra: Training with ChessBase apps - Memorize the opening repertoire and play key positions against Fritz on various levels • Database with model games GM Nick Pert is a chess grandmaster from England who has regularly played for the England team in Olympiads and European Team Championships. He is a former World U18 chess champion and is the current National Head Coach of the English Chess Federation. System requirements: Minimum: Pentium III 1 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows 7, DirectX9 graphic card with 256 MB RAM, DVD-ROM drive, Windows Media Player 9 and internet connection for program activation.
