Dabei werde ich im ersten Abschnitt der Arbeit auf den Osiris Mythos eingehen, da hier die Wurzeln des Isiskultes zu finden sind. Unterdessen werde ich vorher thematisieren inwieweit wir von einem Mythos sprechen können und ob der Begriff des Mythos geklärt werden muss. Der Hauptteil der Arbeit, werden jedoch die verschiedenen Funktionen der Isis sein, inwieweit sich die Göttin entwickelt hat, was geblieben ist, was sich verändert hat und was zu der Ausbreitung des Kultes beigetragen hat. Schließlich werde ich verschiedene Quellen betrachten, in denen Isis auftritt. Der letzte Abschnitt meiner Arbeit wird sich mit der Isis außerhalb Ägyptens beschäftigen. Denn aus Griechenland und Rom liegen uns erstaunlich viele Quellen vor.
