Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Film und Fernsehen, Note: 15, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main (Institut für Kunstpädagogik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Seit den 1990er Jahren überfluten Vampire regelrecht die mediale Welt. Joss Whedon eröffnete mit der Erfolgs-Serie Buffy einen "Boom um die Blutsauger". Einen weiteren Höhepunkt verzeichnete Stephanie Meyers berühmte "Twilight"-Reihe, die ebenfalls die Kinowelt sowie unendliche (vor allem weibliche) Teenager-Herzen erobert hat. Man trifft auch in Zeitschriften auf Vampire. Es lässt sich, dank der Bravo-Zeitschrift, sogar herausfinden, wie viel Vampir in dir steckt. Doch der "Boom um die Blutsauger" macht auch über die Medienwelt hinaus keinen Halt. Es gibt Vampirschädel-Spardosen, Vampir-Puppen, Vampir-Bettwäsche, Vampir-Gläser und -Tassen, Vampir-Schnuller und vieles mehr, was im täglichen Leben unentbehrlich scheint. Die jeweiligen Vampire und deren Geschlechterrepräsentation, die auf bestimmte Tendenzen einer Zeit hinweisen, kommen allerdings schnell aus der Mode. Dennoch lassen sich beispielsweise die Fernseh-Serie "Buffy - im Bann der Dämonen" und die "Twilight"-Reihe auf bestimmte Merkmale hin, wie etwa der Kleidung beziehungsweise der visuellen Konstruktion des männlichen Vampirs, den Körper, bestimmte Charakteren und des "Female Gaze", untersuchen und durchaus miteinander vergleichen. Dies soll in der vorliegenden Hausarbeit versucht werden. Ich stütze mich hierbei vorwiegend auf die Arbeit von Marcus Recht: "Der sympathische Vampir - Visualisierungen von Männlichkeiten in der TV-Serie Buffy", aber auch auf die Arbeit von Karin Lenzhofer "Chicks Rule! Die schönen neuen Heldinnen in US-amerikanischen Fernsehserien". [...]
