Damit wird die Verfügbarkeit aktueller Informationen und die Fähigkeit, damit umzugehen, im Zeitalter kürzer werdender Produktzyklen, individueller Kundenwünsche und steigendem Kostendruck für Versicherungsunternehmen zum entscheidenden Wettbewerbsfaktor. Die Versicherungsunternehmen werden die unternehmerischen Herausforderungen nur dann bewältigen können, wenn sie es schaffen, das gesamte Unternehmen an den Anforderungen und Bedürfnissen der Kunden zu orientieren. Langfristig erfolgreich werden nur diejenigen Unternehmen sein, denen es gelingt, aus Kundendaten Informationen zu gewinnen und diese Informationen in eine Wertschöpfung für die Kunden umzusetzen. Dabei hat sich gezeigt, dass eine effiziente Kundenorientierung nur mit rechnergestützten Informationssystemen möglich ist. Gang der Untersuchung: Am Beispiel des Dienstleistungssektors der Versicherungsbranche werden in der vorliegenden Arbeit, aus der Vertriebs- und Marketingperspektive die Herausforderungen an die Informationssysteme beleuchtet und geeignete Vorgehensweisen aufgezeigt. Dabei wird ein ganzheitlicher Bezugsrahmen zur Optimierung der Kundenorientierung durch Informationssysteme in Versicherungsunternehmen geschaffen. Die technischen Möglichkeiten der Sammlung von Informationen in Informationssystemen und deren Datenanalyse, hinsichtlich einer one-to-one-Kommunikation sind heute bereits gegeben. Für die Sammlung von Informationen und Daten existieren bereits dezidierte Modellierungs- und Optimierungsverfahren. Dazu werden in der vorliegenden Arbeit zunächst die Daten untersucht, die für eine kundenorientierte Ausrichtung der Versicherungsunternehmen von grundlegender Bedeutung sind. Davon ausgehend werden verschiedene Datenbankmodelle und Informationssysteme aufgezeigt und darauf aufbauend das Data Warehouse-Konzept vorgestellt. Im Folgenden wird auf die Analyse der gesammelten Daten eingegangen. Dabei werden verschiedene Konzepte der Datenanalyse wie Marktsegmentierung, Datamining, On-line analytical processing (OLAP) und Internetanalyseformen wie Web Mining und Automated Colloborative Filtering vorgestellt. Diese Analyseformen führen dazu, den Kunden im Rahmen einer Gesamtansicht eine größere Kundenorientierung zu bieten. Darauf aufbauend wird aufgezeigt, welche konkreten Auswirkungen die so gewonnenen Informationen auf das Marketingverständnis in Versicherungsunternehmen und konkrete Vertriebsaktionen hat. Insbesondere das Marketing wird dabei nicht nur als Verkaufsförderung verstanden werden, sondern als ein integrativer, umfassender Ansatz, der organisatorische und technologische Konsequenzen nach sich zieht. Dabei wird schwerpunktmässig auf Databasemarketing, Relationshipmanagement und Computer aided selling eingegangen. Einen weiteren Schwerpunkt beinhaltet internetbasierte Online Direkt Marketing, Personalisierte Web-Sites und eine auf Informationssystemen basierende Prozessautomatisierung. Aufbauend auf diesen technischen Möglichkeiten wird auf die Unternehmensform der Zukunft, der virtuellen Versicherung eingegangen.
