Test: Einzeltest: Nokia N97 mini QWERTY smartphone
Zitat: Pros: Sturdy build, good camera, clear call quality
Cons: Aging OS, poor touchscreen, awkward keyboard, sluggish
From its rather sluggish performance to its gimmicky widget homescreen, the N97 mini isn´t much of an improvement over the N97 - nor is it a very exciting device. Its smaller form factor is appreciated, but the operating system is lackluster and aging, its keyboard is mediocre, and the display isn´t top-notch. It has a decent camera and lots of storage for multimedia, but there are plenty of other smartphones that offer a better overall package, including some from Nokia itself. Sure it´ll place your phone calls, but the Nokia N97 mini needs a revamped operating system, more power under the hood, and a multitouch screen to make it truly worth your buck. If you are a Symbian OS fan and are seeking a pocketable device with both a keyboard and a touchscreen, you could well be happy with the N97 mini. It still earns a "Recommended" rating from us because it has no deal-breaking issues and might suit the right buyer, but we are certainly not enthusiastic about it.
