Test: Einzeltest: SilverStone ML03 Entry-Level HTPC Case
Zitat: The reason behind SilverStone´s reason to manufacture the ML03 is two fold. To allow consumer to built a quality home theater solution, and allow for them to keep within a modest budget. The ML03 retails for about $60 at most online retailers, which easily takes care of the "modest budget" side. Then throw in say, AMD’s latest E-350 APU equipped Fusion motherboard, a low watt power supply, higher end hard drive and optical drive. With all that you have everything you need to have an operational HTPC that runs below ambient sound levels, produces virtually no heat, looks the part, all the while provide an enjoyable home theater experience Visually the ML03 is not going to be the subject of conversation when the friends come over to watch the game. It does not have a lot of the flash we have seen from other HTPC enclosures, including some from Silverstone. As we said in the introduction, the ML03 is plain Jane and was designed to be that way. The only knock against the ML03 is the fact you need to carefully choose your power supply and optical drive combination. If you are to use any random power supply and optical you may find yourself in a tight spot, as you have limited space once both components are installed and they will be nearly touching. If you so choose to not use an optical drive you have more room for storage drives. With many people moving over to NAS units, the HTPC is just used as an audio and video serving medium between your network and the television.
