Man spricht bei dies en Verklebungen von "Aufbauschneiden", was besagen sol1, daB sich auf dem Werkzeug neue Schneiden aus dem Werkstoff des Werkstiickes aufgebaut haben. Tatsachlich erkennt man bei genauer Beob achtung, daB diese Aufbauschneiden den Trennvorgang in der Span wurzel ein leiten und nicht mehr das urspriinglich eingesetzte Werkzeug. Der Werkstoff kann somit - als Verklebung auf dem Werkzeug - zugleich auch die Funktion der Werkzeugschneide iibernehmen. Ermoglicht wird diese Erscheinung durch die Eigenschaft der entsprechenden Materialien, sich bei einer plastischen Verformung zu verfestigen.
