In summary the Samsung DV300F offers advanced wi-fi connectivity, a vast array of "fun" shooting modes and decent photos at a price that undercuts most of the direct competition. If you´ve hit the limitations of your current smartphone and want a pocket camera that´s more capable without losing too much in the way of connectivity, then the new DV300F certainly fits the bill.

This allows you to upload straight to Facebook or other sites, as well as backup to your PC. The camera provides a wide angle 5x optical zoom lens with a reasonably bright aperture of f/2.5 which is quite rare for a compact camera. The front screen is a little disappointing due to the design making the screen a bit more difficult to see. Images are bright and colourful and should produce very good results for sharing on the web, but when viewed full size there is some corner softness and purple fringing. Noise is also noticeable as the ISO setting increases. The Samsung DV300F would make a good travel compact ideal for uploading photos while on the move, and it represents good value for money.
