Sega Virtua Tennis 4 PC

Zitat: I´m conflicted. On one hand, the game´s central mode - World Tour Mode - is garbage designed by people who hate tennis and like garbage. Most of its other modes, while fun, are nothing to write home about, either. On the other hand, the actual tennis gameplay itself is sublime. It also happens to look gorgeous, sounds good (save for the disco music), and has strong "pick up and play" sensibilities. Overall, I´m going to have to call this one a winner mainly on the strength of its gameplay and visual aesthetic. Just don´t go in to it expecting the depth or structural realism you might find in other tennis games.

Gerade im Mehrspieler, egal ob on- oder offline, kommt richtig Freude auf und die Ballwechsel sind durchaus spannend. Inhaltlich bekommt ihr das gleiche Paket, wie es die Konsolenversionen bieten. Auch technisch gibt es bis auf die höheren Auflösungen keine Veränderungen. Dadurch sieht das Spiel immerhin ein bisschen besser aus, wirkt grafisch aber trotzdem angestaubt. Ärgerlich ist hingegen der Online-Zwang, den Windows Live mit sich bringt. Das ist zwar mittlerweile fast üblich bei PC-Spielen, könnte aber den einen oder anderen trotzdem ärgern. Zusammenfassend gesagt: Auf dem PC ist Virtua Tennis 4 gleichwertig mit der PS3- und X360-Fassung. Der absolute Toptitel ist es auch hier nicht, für spaßige Tennis-Arcade-Action reicht es aber allemal.

There´s the usual tweaking in this incarnation of Virtua Tennis, but the twin pillars of change are a story of success and failure. The new World Tour format is a highly engaging way to build your virtual tennis player, but the Kinect implementation is ropey and only good for family larks. The tennis engine remains an excellent one, and - motion-cotrol aside - this is a very accomplished recreation of centre court action.
