Super comfy from the first time you put them on
This is my fourth pair of Josef Seibel footwear — all purchased online via amazon.de. I discovered this brand about four years back when I was looking for shoes that were comfortable, easy to walk in and which weren’t too casual or sportswear looking (so I could wear them to work in a corporate office setting). I live in a central European city and don’t have a car = Lots of walking (and lots of wet, inclement weather year round and navigating lots of cobblestones). I LOVE Josef Seibel shoes. They’re the only brand I’ve worn in recent years that fit right and feel great from the first minute you put them on. While they’re not quite full barefoot-style shoes, they get close to that feel with an ergonomic, lightweight design. I deducted one star from this rating because this particular boot model comes with a hybrid partial leather / partial synthetic lining — full leather is always better. Plus — the two-zipper design feels a bit “1980s” and excessively “schnick-schnacky.” Otherwise, though — this is my new fave pair of short boots for running errands and for long days of travel. No pain, no blood, no blisters. Most women’s shoes (that aren’t sneakers!) need breaking in and cause a lot of problems before you can wear them a full day without problems. That’s why I’m increasingly focused on brands like JS that really offer excellent comfort and “walkability.”
