Testurteil: "3 out of 5"
Test: Einzeltest: Sony VAIO C Series
Zitat: The good: + There´s no doubt about it, some of the colours in the C Series range will split opinion, but that´s one of the things we love about this machine. The orange and green models come close to glowing in the dark, they´re that bright, and they certainly stand out from the crowd.
+ Aside from orange and lime green, the C Series is also available in bright red, and a particularly vivid blue. Along with the curvy design, build quality is also reasonable, with a comfortable and responsive keyboard.
+ At 14 inches, the C Series is a decent size. It´s just about small enough to take out and about regularly, yet it´s also easily big enough for use as your main machine.
+ The 14-inch screen is also a cracker – it´s very bright, and incredibly vibrant. Although the resolution on the entry-level model is an average 1366 x 768 pixels, you´ll also be able to specify a 1600 x 900-pixel panel.
+ Power comes from a choice of Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Features on the C Series include HDMI and VGA ports, with three USB ports, memory stick and SD card readers. You´ll be able to add Blu-ray as an option.
The bad: - The biggest problem with the VAIO C Series is the disappointing battery life. At under three hours from a single charge, it´s not capable of taking advantage of the compact design, and it falls a long way behind the seven, eight or nine hours we´ve come to expect from the very best laptops.
If battery life isn´t an issue, however, there´s a lot to like about the Sony VAIO C Series. Well made and well designed, these bright laptops really do make a pleasant change.
