NZXT Hades

The chassis interior is well laid out and allows for a very “open feel” even when it is full of your components. The open design has another reason over aesthetics, and that is to allow for the best air flow possible inside this mid tower. Two 200mm fans blasting air in, and even at full speed offer little more than a hum. To remove the air, there is a combination of a 120mm on the back and the 140mm installed in the top. All of these combined offered superior flow to any of the chassis’ listed above. Aside from the “make it or break it”, for some buyers, front door, this chassis offers everything the others do, and all at the same price. So if you could buy a chassis that is easier to work in than the HAF 922, offers better air flow than most of the cases in the price range, and is well thought out for cable management and attractive to look at, why wouldn’t you? - I have seen the progression of quite a few of NZXT offerings and I have to say they hit the nail on the head with the Hades. Priced right in my opinion, you can find the Hades at Newegg for $79.99, with free shipping currently. All I can say to that is wow! This is one serious contender which falls below the price of most of the Hades main competitors. Don’t let the following score fool you into thinking anything derogatory; the only reason for the lower score is due to its limited current availability.

Zitat: Up until the last moment, the Hades had surprised us. Build quality isactually very good and much better than previous NZXT cases we´ve looked at. The front door is a bit of an eye sore, but apart from that it has all the hallmarks of a great value case. Having a dual-channel fan controller, calbing routing holes and water-cooling compatibility all help to make a strong case against the competition. The results prove that the fans are effectively positioned and as a result the Hades is one of the best performing cases out there - assuming of course you´re happy to have a gaping hole in the side panel. The side panel issue really is a tragic mistake given how well it performs. However the fact that it´s essentially incompatible with all the decent coolers we´ve looked at recently is a huge drawback. While NZXT lists this little issue in bold in the Hades´ spec sheet on their website, this doesn´t make the problem go away. A simple addition of alternative mounting screws so you can secure the mesh to the side panel without the fan, or even an adapter so you could use a smaller fan which doesn´t interfere with the space available for the CPU cooler would largely solve the problem. So should you buy the Hades? Well if your CPU cooler is less than 131mm high then the Hades is a brilliant case which provides great cooling and has a ton of useful features. The front fascia is about as pretty as a burnt out building, but great cooling and looks rarely go hand in hand. However, as our extensive cooler reviews show, the best modern coolers are towers and the vast majority of these are much taller than 131mm. So, while the Hades performs well, and is clearly aimed at enthusiasts who care about cooling, it´s essentially at odds with decent CPU coolers. So, despite being one of the best performing cases we´ve tested and certainly not short on features, we´re reluctant to recommend the Hades because of this critical flaw.

Van het uiterlijk moet je houden, maar de featureset is zo uitgebreid dat je je afvraagt hoe dat voor deze prijs kan. Er zijn genoeg fans, waarvan de snelheid van twee stuks handmatig afgeregeld kan worden, en er worden drie temperatuursensors meegeleverd, die met een display aan de voorkant kunnen worden uitgelezen. De behuizing is degelijk afgewerkt en is aan de binnenkant volledig zwart gespoten. Kabels zijn relatief eenvoudig weg te werken, alleen laat de rubberen voering van de gaten wel erg snel los. Optische drives zijn eenvoudig te installeren, maar de installatie van hdd´s kost in vergelijking met andere behuizingen vrij veel moeite. Daar staat tegenover dat de harddisks wel stevig vastzitten, met siliconen ringen die trillingen absorberen. Ten opzichte van bijvoorbeeld de CM 690 II krijg je een rijker uitgeruste behuizing, al is de bouwkwaliteit iets minder. Of de kast een aanrader is, hangt af van de eisen van de koper: die moet voornamelijk geen cpu-koelers met een hoogte van meer dan 131,5mm willen monteren. Op die ene ontwerpfout na is de Hades echter een heel behoorlijke behuizing: voor zeventig euro krijg je een degelijke kast met een hoop extra´s. Die Staubschutzfilter in der Front und vor dem Netzteillüfter schützen die Hardware vor Verschmutzung. Leider wird dies durch die großen Öffnungen in der Oberseite teilweise wieder zunichte gemacht. Positiv zu erwähnen ist auch die verbaute Lüftersteuerung und die Temperaturanzeige.
