In this book we present a practicable probabilistic encryption scheme that is polynomially secure and is efficient. From the theoretical construction it is clear that the proof of Pseudo randomness of the quadratic residue generator is complete if it can be shown that there exists a one-way permutation under the possible assumption that it is infeasible to factor composite integers, and that the least significant bit is hard-core for this permutation. Furthermore, we discuss the implementation of Probabilistic encryption.

Acoustic sound source localization using signal processing is required in order to estimate the direction from where a particular acoustic source signal is coming and it is also important in order to find a solution for hands free communication. Video conferencing, hand free communications are different applications requiring acoustic sound source localization. These applications need a robust algorithm which can reliably localize and position the acoustic sound sources. The Steered Response Power Phase Transform (SRP-PHAT) is an important and robust algorithm to localize acoustic sound sources. However, the algorithm has a high computational complexity thus making the algorithm unsuitable for real time applications. This thesis focuses on describe the implementation of the SRP-PHAT algorithm as a function of source type, reverberation levels and ambient noise. The main objective of this thesis is to present different approaches of the SRP-PHAT to verify the algorithm in terms of acoustic environment, microphone array configuration, acoustic source position and levels of reverberation and noise.

One issue identified is the inability of many whites, the dominant population, to articulate a positive ethnic/cultural identity; rather they default to a national identity. This book therefore provides findings that are significant to post-colonial and multi-cultural societies, which often comprise of dominant groups of white people who demonstrate difficulty in constructing a positive ethnic identity. The children's stories in this study, demonstrate that the emergence of new, hybrid, and positive identities can be encouraged. In addition, the possibility of racial bias can be discouraged, through political and educational practices. Secularization is a cement of the Turkish modernization and nation-state building process. Westernization and modernization were accepted side by side with secularization and different from other examples of secularization, Turkey developed an original definition and a process towards secularization. In the Turkish model, Islam was taken under state control as a result of historical and social developments. However, not only being controlled, Islam also has been manipulated by the state to reproduce the hegemonic statist ideology and to maintain the legitimacy of the state's sovereignty over its subjects. These practices produce a contradictory understanding of laicism and a controversial position of the state in its relation to Islam. The difference between the constitutional definition of laicism and the institutional practices and policies which are non-laic according to the state's definition of laicism, makes the masses more close to religion instead of secularism. Using only one religion (Islam) and one sect (Sunni-Hannifin) to strengthen the Turkish state's legitimacy can damage the sovereignty of the state in the perception of the non-Muslim and non-Hannifin subjects.

This book is devoted to the generalization and systematization of the models and methods to study the cyclic polling systems and their application to design and optimize the broadband wireless networks. New polling models adequately describing the performance of the broadband wireless Wi-Fi and Wi-MAX networks with PCF are presented. We provide the definition and classification of polling systems. Much attention is given to methods for analysis and optimization of the polling systems. In addition to classical polling models, we consider the reservation schemes to poll the queues, models with threshold service and new models with limited service, which are of great theoretical and practical interest. We briefly review the priority queueing systems similar to polling ones with priority-type service policy. The numerical results of design and performance estimation of the broadband wireless networks with PCF and adaptive dynamical polling are obtained on the base of polling models and are shown in the text. The mechanical properties of cells are often an indicator of disease. Red blood cells (RBCs) are easily deformable, thus its viability depends greatly on its extracellular medium. In this book, a microfluidic channel with the top wall decorated by a periodic array of rigid diagonal ridges that can sort RBCs with different stiffness is presented. It can give rise to a stiffness-dependent force, thus induce transverse separation. RBCs with extracellular media of 0.89% and 0.59% sodium chloride concentrations are separated. By bathing RBCs to various salt concentrations, its shape morphology and also its viscoelastic properties change. The total RBC count also correlated with the %salinity concentrations. These findings support observations relating salinity in blood with RBC count in physiological conditions. With a flow rate of 0.02mL/min and cell concentration of 3.2 x 1010cells/mL, the outlets of the microfluidic device were able to collect RBCs with a total retention of 78%. The analysis should help shed light to the role of physics in medicine. Microfluidics can be an approach to a powerful clinical tool for blood analysis and supplementary tool for disease detection method.

In the context improving water productivity, there is a growing interest in deficit irrigation, an irrigation practice where by water supply is reduced below maximum levels and mild stress allowed with minimal effect of yield. Recognizing the potential of deficit irrigation practice, conserving scarce water resource, increasing farm productivity and enabling environmental protection this book presents the result of a number of deficit irrigation studies carried out for onion crop with a review of the impact of reduced water supplies on crop yield.
