What is the difference in the level of occupational stress of working women of different profession in relation to age, marital status and family type etc?

The mind-body problem has two essential aspects - the problem of mental causation and the problem of consciousness. Dualism is able to address the latter but not the former aspect adequately. In recent years, in association with progress and innovation in the field of pharmaceutical technology, there has been an increasing effort to develop sustained release dosage forms for many drugs due to its advantages in safety and efficacy over immediate release drug products. The intent of this research was to design matrix tablets of Metformin hydrochoride using Ispaghula husk powder and to study its release retardant activity. Natural materials have advantages over synthetic ones since they are chemically inert, nontoxic, inexpensive, biodegradable and widely available. Tablets were prepared using wet granulation technique with increasing concentration of Ispaghula husk powder to the drug. Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FTIR) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) studies were performed and the surface morphology and particle shape was evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The drug release patterns were explained in different kinetic models and found better release compared to marketed products. From the study It is evident that Ispaghula husk powder can be used as a natural matrix forming polymer for preparing sustained release matrix tablets.

The importance of zinc for plant growth and reproduction has been recognised some 150 years ago. Since then importance of Zn has been worked out in different plant species including crop plants. The deficiency of Zn affects not only the crop species but is currently listed as one of the major risk factors responsible for the different health complications in human beings such as impairment of physical growth, immune system and learning ability combined with increased risk of infections, DNA damage and cancer development. Zn deficiency is the most widespread nutrient disorder in world soils and economically important on global scale. During recent years increasing Zn density in cereal grains through agricultural practices or agronomic biofortification has gained importance due to the widespread Zn deficiency problems occurring in human beings. Efforts are being made on large scale to reduce the antinutritional factors such as phytin in seeds which inhibits the absorption of Zn and Fe in intestine in order to reduce the risk of anaemia in people consuming the low quality cereal grains grown in Zn deficient areas.

Male (n=30) and female (n=30) rats were divided into as control (CC), horizontal restrained (HR) and head down suspended (HDS) group for winter (20°C to 23°C) and summer season (30°C to 33°C). During winter and summer seasons, male and female rats did show a (P0.05) decrease in the weight of liver, lymphocytes, serum glucose, cholesterol, proteins and albumin, Na, K, Mg, Mn, Cu, Se and T3 concentration in the HR and HDS group as compared to control group. An increase (P0.05) in the adrenal weight, neutrophils and serum calcium level was also observed in the HR and HDS groups. Kidney weight of male rats did increase (P0.05) in HR and HDS groups and in female of HDS group during winter seasons. Pituitary weight did increase (P 0.05) in male and female HR and HDS groups during winter and was high (P 0.05) in female of HR and HDS groups during summer. Serum AST increased (P0.05) in male of HDS group during winter while in summer, it increased (P0.05) in male of HR and HDS groups. Serum ALT increased (P0.05) in male and female rats of HR and HDS groups during winter while in summer, it increased (P0.05) in male and female of HDS rats.

There is widespread and long-running discontent with the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as a measure of progress for society. A number of alternative measures have been proposed, including the Genuine Progress Index (GPI). A GPI has been developed by local government in the Wellington region (New Zealand) to facilitate a rethinking of conventional notions of 'progress'. The Wellington Region GPI (WRGPI) is a pluralistic index consisting of environmental, social, economic and cultural indicators with either physical or monetary values. This study explores a 'good practice' approach to public participation in the development of the GPI, and provides an overview of the context within which it fits. It considers the institutional barriers to the implementation of the WRGPI and provides recommendations of how deliberative and social learning techniques could be used to increase the likelihood that conventional notions of 'progress' will be replaced with more holistic ones.

Nocardia species continue to be highly dangerous human pathogens. There is an increase interest of Nocardia species particularly N.asteroides as health risk affecting both human and animal. Also, because of the involvement of milk in human infection. The genus Nocardia was named after Nocard in, 1888 which described a disease of bovine farcy and lymphatic disease of cattle. The members of the genus Nocardia are associated with the group of microorganisms known as the aerobic actinomycetes and belong to the family mycobacteriacae. The Nocardiae contain tuberculostearic acid but differ from the mycobacteriacae by possession of shorter chained [40 to 50 carbon] mycolic acid.

A field experiment was conducted at College of Horticulture, Venkataramannagudem to study the effect of plant density and phosphorus levels on the growth and yield of vegetable cowpea under rainfed conditions. The study revealed that the crop responded to plant densities as well as phosphorus levels. The biometric characters like number of primary branches per plant (8.52), pod length (21.31 cm), pod girth (12.35 mm), number of pods per plant (37.02), number of seeds per pod (16.85), pod weight per plant (10.93 g) and pod yield per plant (301.85 g) were higher at lower density plants (37,037 plants/ha) along with 60 kg P2O5/ha. The growth and yield characters like plant height (52.47 cm), TDM accumulation (3968.04 kg/ha), days to flowering (34.73 days), days to first picking (44.28 days) and pod yield (152.87 q//ha) were showed better expression in case of high density planting (74,074 plants/ha) along with 60 kg P2O5/ha. The interaction effect of plant densities and phosphorus levels were significant on plant height, total dry matter accumulation and days to flowering, pod length, pod weight per plant, yield per plant and pod yield/ha.
