LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Emerson, L: Hearing loss in minor head injury A1022947340
Hearing loss is a common complaint encountered in ENT practice. Mild traumatic brain injury is one of the most common neurological disorders with only migraine and herpes zoster having higher incidences and only migraine having higher prevalence. In all accidents Minor head injuries ( Peden marge&Scurfeild et al, 2004)are the most common. Hearing loss following head trauma or head injury is a major medical problem in adults ( Bergemalm P-O&Borg.E 2001),as well as children ( Hough JVD &Stuart WD,1985) which may go unnoticed when the hearing loss does not affect speech frequencies. Due to trauma sustained hearing impairment may persist or progress. Hearing impairment can be due to central or peripheral causes, middle ear or cochlea being the most common site of peripheral injury. Evaluation of hearing loss by Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) and Tympanometry is a standard protocol in all cases of Trauma. Evaluation of outer hair cell function can be done with evoked Oto-acoustic emission measurements. Evoked OAEs can be detected in essentially all ears with normal hearing and are reduced or absent in ears affected by Hearing loss.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Gilani, K: Micropropagation & Callogenesis Of Solanum tubero A1021379067
The given plant, Solanum tuberosum was grown in the field as well as in petri plants by seeds. The different explants such as leaf, node, internodes, bud and roots were taken for micropropagation. These explants were grown in vitro after thorough sterilization using different PGR in different media composition. The PGR used were 2,4-D, BAP and NAA. Their combination were also used i.e. 2,4-D+BAP, BAP+NAA and 2,4-D+NAA in different concentration. The most effective and suitable media composition was MS (Murashige & Skoog, 1962) basal medium with BAP (2.0 mg/l) for regeneration from nodal explant of Solanum tuberosum. The optimum temperature was found to be 23± 02 oC. The micropropagation occurred more precisely at about 30 (g/l) sucrose concentrations. The most effective photoperiod for the regeneration of Solanum tuberosum was 16 hours light period. The pH 5.7 was considered to be the best for the micropropagation of Solanum tuberosum.

It specifically focuses on the human rights issues particularly with regard to overseas travels, domestic movements, as well as the right to treatment. Other practices that raise fundamental human rights questions that the book analyses include quarantine, compulsory screening, criminalization of the disease. The writer argues that policies that raise fundamental human rights questions are ineffective in handling HIV/AIDS, and are often counter-productive.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing S., J: Publishing your first research paper A1056434133
A research paper is a piece of academic writing based on its author's original research on a particular topic, its analysis and interpretation of the research findings. It is the result of rigorous experiments and analysis done by the researcher over a period of time. Therefore these results should be published in a good platform, so that the results will be helpful to the entire research community. In this book my intention is to give a beginner research scholar an introduction about publishing a research paper. During starting of my research I was also having less knowledge about publishing a paper. I went through many websites and papers to find out the procedures. I this book I am sharing knowledge gained and the sources I followed during my research experience and publishing a paper. The websites and books I referred are given in the reference section. Comments and suggestions are purely personal. In the end, I have given a list of journals also.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Tekle, A: New Urban Housing Initiative in Ethiopia A1025629407
This study assess opportunities and challenges of condominium housing in Hawassa City, south Ethiopia, with the consideration of the pre-and post-transfer issues. The majority of residents in condominium houses indicated that their current housing situation is better than their previous houses. The study also indicated that condominium houses are better suit for households with fewer family members. The designs for external appearance and aspect of the condominium buildings, and the internal partition and arrangement of the rooms have hardly satisfied the residents. Common land and common facility usage, noise pollution, waste and sewage disposal, house-maid and children related issues are some of the major causes for inconvenient neighborhood relationships. The criteria set to transfer the condominium houses to the beneficiaries was observed less practical. Discrepancy has been observed between the criteria set for handing-over the condominium houses to the beneficiaries and the actual handing-over process. The study also concluded that the poorest segment of the community was not in a position to own condominium houses because of affordability problems.

LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Saroj, B: Scientific Validation Of Polyherbal Hepatoprotecti A1026157696
This polyherbal formulation has been traditionally used in the Indian system of medicine as a chief formulation for the treatment of hepatic diseases as hepatoprotective. The aim of the study was to study hepatoprotective activity which will be scientific validation of traditional knowledge claimed about this polyherbal formulation. Hepatotoxicity was induced by administration of paracetamol (300mg/kg) to the animals. The levels of liver enzymes, lipid profiles, creatinine, urea levels and histopathological parameters were measured in order to evaluate hepatoprotective activity of polyherbal formulation. The polyherbal formulation produced a significant hepatoprotective activity of the decoction of polyherbal formulation. The polyherbal formulation (PHF = 1) shows good hepatoprotective activity by lowering the levels of SGOT, alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin parameters (p0.05), lipid profiles - cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL and histopathological evaluations shows that PHF = 1 and PHF = 3 formulations have significantly hepatoprotective activity (p0.05). The study validates that polyherbal formulation has a good hepatoprotective activity.
The threat of climate change may be the greatest social and environmental challenge of our time. Yet if the increase in warming is to be stabilised then a reduction in atmospheric carbon dioxide is needed. Sink technologies, such as ocean fertilisation, claim to do this by stimulating phytoplankton to grow into massive blooms, thereby drawing down large amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere into the deep ocean. But the science is still unproven and concerns have been raised, not only about its feasibility, but also the environmental and legal implications. Consequently a number of questions have been asked, such as: What is the effectiveness of current international and domestic legal regimes to regulate ocean fertilisation? Is ocean fertilisation feasible as a carbon mitigation measure? What are the concerns and/or benefits of ocean fertilisation for carbon trading and seafood production? This book provides a comprehensive examination of ocean fertilisation and considers the pros and cons of its use as a climate mitigation measure as well as for seafood production.

Their body colour and continuous fluctuating movement attract biologists to follow their natural behavior. We have also tried to search and identify different types of birds in the Jhargram district inhabiting in the forest areas as well as in some local swampy areas and also in the water banks. This book emphasizes to aware local people to develop some basic knowledge about them and also to develop some keen interest about their habitat, behavior and biology to some extent so that they can be properly conserve in their natural habitat.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Singh, P: Surface and Ground Water Interaction A1025893429
Water is known to be a fundamental element of all forms of life. It is commonly used as solvent, for drinking, for cleaning purposes and various other ways. Needless to say, it has to be clean water. Water pollution on the other hand, decreases the water's usefulness economically and aesthetically. When water becomes polluted, it brings danger to our health and to the other living things. The most serious effects of water pollution are infectious diseases, which commonly occur in developing countries, where there is a problem with sanitation. Water-borne diseases occurs when microscopic causal organisms spread through water body,90% of the world diseases are cause due to water contamination. Groundwater and Surface-Water Interactions: As development of land and water resources increases, it is apparent that development of either of these resources affects quantity and quality of the other. Nearly all surface- water features interacts with groundwater. These interactions take many forms. In many situations, surface water bodies gain water and solutes from ground water system and in others the surface water is a source of ground water recharge and cause changes in ground water
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Kumbhar, R: Food security in a regional perspective A1022687385
Paradox of Food Insecurity (FI) with plenty of Food has been found in Orissa, India, like any other part in World. Investigating into the causes, we found that - Entitlement failure rather than Food Availability Decline is the detrimental factor of Food Deprivation in Orissa. This has supported the arguments of the Nobel laureate Amartya Sen (1981). Public support through Public Distribution System (PDS) could have reduced FI but its' poor designing, implementation & functioning left the poor in the cold. The household data collected from field exhibits - PDS could not reduced FI substantially, mainly due to meager amount of entitlement of rice, higher subsidy in sugar and existence of targeting errors (both Type I & Type II errors), which has led to inefficient income transfer. PDS provides only around 11 percent of the monthly per capita consumption to the surveyed households. Hike in the issue prices of PDS ration has cascading effects in reducing the household's expenditure on food, cloth, education and health substantially. But given the weaker demand side; a well-designed PDS is necessary in the state. The book will be useful for researchers, academicians & policy makers.

LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Valdivia, J: Organic waste management in Manitoba, Canada: A1019577112
This thesis evaluates the waste management system in the province of Manitoba, Canada and other jurisdictions to identify best practices for organic waste management, and barriers and opportunities to improving the waste management sector's impact on the environment. Multiple methods were used. First, a survey of expert stakeholders in the waste management sector in Manitoba was conducted, which was followed by an expert stakeholder meeting that further refined the results of the survey. Second, waste management systems of Manitoba, Canada, Nova Scotia, Canada, New South Wales, Australia, and Denmark were compared to determine which of the options already in use by other jurisdictions might be useful in Manitoba. Third, an estimation of the amount of organic waste entering landfills in Manitoba was conducted, along with an estimation of the resulting methane emissions from landfills to determine their greenhouse gas emissions. Finally, this thesis provides specific recommendations for the province of Manitoba to improve its waste management system.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Kanyarugero Fidele, N: Relevance of cooperative approach in A1021333113
Assuming that rural population of Rwanda almost agricultural knows a precariousness of its productive assets specifically cultivable land. And that their organizational mode is not adapted in order to help them enjoying a sustainable socio-economic life. My main objective is to understand the magnitude of this landless and the fragility's degree of this organizational mode. I made an exploratory survey to verify four assumptions: (i) The rural population of Rwanda lives an excessive landless accompanying by a high fragmentation; (ii) This landless increases by generations to generations; (iii) In these circumstances, this operator lives an organizational mode based primarily to individualism which does not allow him to fully enjoy its physical, moral and intellectual forces; (iv) Its socio cultural environment is not hostile to cooperative mode that allowed to overcome challenges in time and space such as those uncounted by Rwandan rural population. The analysis of my findings allowed me to confirm those four assumptions and I have reached my goal. My research result is brought to knowledge of many readers, various speakers and decision-makers.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Kokkonen, S: Jewish Refugees in Postwar Italy, 1945-1951 A1020404594
The Jewish Displaced Persons, survivors of the Holocaust, among them former partisans and concentration camp inmates started arriving in Italy in summer 1945. Originally from the Baltic States, Hungary and other parts of Eastern Europe, their immigration reached its peak in 1947 and ended in 1951 when the last refugees left Italy. Throughout these years between 50 000-70 000 refugees passed through Italy on their way to mostly Eretz Israel. Contemporary testimonies support the refugee view that Italy was a different place and they felt for the most part accepted. The story of the Jewish refugees in Italy was a glorious one: they had a goal and most of them obtained it as they arrived in Eretz Israel. The purpose of the research is two-fold: it examines the movement and arrival in Italy of the refugees, as well as the attitudes of the Italian government, public and security forces towards them. It also examines the refugees themselves, their goals and aspirations and the social conditions of the DP camps. These aspects form an important part of political and social history, also in terms of the international effort to aid the refugees.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Ponce, R: Spirituality and Quality of Life A1020703726
Spirituality has been viewed as an important factor in realizing an adequate quality of life. It is regarded as something that contributes to human flourishing, something that advances the quality of life. Generally speaking, millions of migrants all over the world left their homeland due to several factors. It can be economic, political, cultural or religious reasons. The Filipino migrants in the Netherlands come from a country where spirituality matters most. What happens to their search for a greener pasture and their spirituality in a highly secularized country? Thus, this book explores the role of spirituality in the lives of Filipino migrants in the Netherlands. It explores the complex relationship between spirituality and quality of life from a theoretical and an empirical perspective. Does spirituality help them in coping with the challenges and odd circumstances in a far-away land? Or is spirituality a kind of baggage that hinders them to achieve a better quality of life?
