LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Shrestha, R: Craft's Village at Madhyapur Thimi A1023846072
A craft is a branch of profession that requires some particular kind of skilled work. In historical sense, particularly as pertinent to the Medieval history and earlier, the term is usually applied towards people occupied in small-scale production of goods. The meaning of craft and its values are ever-changing with development of new techniques and methods. Craft's village is a one-stop craft destination which offers visitors a unique variety of craft-related activities and programs. In this village, visitors will learn about Nepali handicraft through craft demonstrations & hands-on interactive sessions and it also accommodates various trading units. This project intends to design spaces with forms and functions to foster the development of crafts that Nepal is known for. The art and craft gallery displays wide collections of handicraft products based on time-honoured Nepali traditions. The core concept of the Craft's village is education and highlighting the craft heritage of Nepal and local handicraft production technologies. This project has opted for Newari Architecture- a traditional principle in architectural design and adopts character of a traditional settlement(tole).
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Mullick, N: Consumer Expectations of Shopping Malls in NCR D A1024620774
Malls throughout the country are getting bigger and are being positioned as one-stop-shop for shopping, entertainment, leisure and eating out needs rather than a place only for shopping for fashion products. This has resulted in developers giving more importance to factors like parking, mall design and soft strategies like customer relationship to make these malls work. Because the number of department stores and mall store shoppers which enter a shopping mall correlate positively with the amount of time they spend at the mall. So, in these circumstances the mall developers can not only act as realtors. Their job does not end by selling the shops. Their job starts after the operation of the mall because they have to research the trade area and understand the expectations too provide them the best shopping experience. Seeing these trends I have done this research extensively in selected ten malls of Delhi NCR (India) and analyzed the Consumer expectations which will be of help to the shopping mall developers and researchers to understand the consumers in a better way and position their malls differently.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Bhoyar, P: Effectiveness of FMCG Distribution Channels A1032671651
This book is helpful for those who want to know about how rural market of India, i.e. penetration of FMCG and main players in the market, how they enter the rural markets through various channel partners. End users (consumers) decide the effectiveness of the channel members which was ignored earlier so it becomes the crucial part of the distribution system. Various attributes such availability, regularity of supply, range of items, and packaging which decide the satisfaction of the customers have been studied. Author has constructed scales to measure the effectiveness of the distribution channels taking customers' satisfaction into consideration. FMCG manufactures will benefit immensely reading this book and they can formulate the strategy how to enter the rural markets effectively.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Fortaleza, E: Active Control of Offshore Structures A1024074978
The petroleum exploration in deep water induces many challenges. Several problems are due to the extremely long structure that links the platform to the wellhead (risers). The depth increase makes the structure more slender, and consequently much more flexible. Its dynamical behavior can be described by an infinite dimensional system. Two associated problems are studied in this report: the positioning of the bottom end of structure, to connect it to the wellhead (reentry operation), and the vortex induced vibrations (VIV) of these slender structures.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Aribisala, B: Computing Irregularity for Features in Medical A1013647920
The irregularity of a lesion border has been identified as the most significant factor in the diagnosis of malignant melanoma. The objective of the research was to find objective computable measures of contour irregularity and to apply them to skin lesions. A descriptive definition of irregularity was formulated which defines irregularity in terms of the five attributes: departure from a typical sequence (deviation), lack of obvious description, lack of compressibility, lack of symmetry and lack of a rule for generating a sequence. Methods based on the Hidden Markov Models, the Conditional Entropy, and a novel method based on Pattern Theory, were implemented, evaluated and tested. Their predictive power as classifiers of lesion abnormality was tested on 98 lesions. All methods showed sensitivity and specificity of over 0.7, with 0.82 scored for the Weibull based Hidden Markov Models. Ranking correlation between the computed measures and the human perception of the border irregularity varied from W=0.49 for the Hidden Markov Models based measure to W=0.95 for the measure based on Pattern Theory.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Chinikar, S: Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever and experimenta A1025359989
Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) name derives from the separate regions in Asia (Criema) and Africa (Congo) where severe and often fatal human cases of hemorrhagic disease and fever were recognized in the 1940s and 1950s for the first time. CCHF virus (CCHFV) is transmitted to humans by bites of infected ticks (several species of genus Hyalomma). CCHFV has also been transmitted to human through contact with blood or tissue of infected animals and also nosocomially. CCHF is a viral zoonotic disease that can develop into a severe hemorrhagic fever in human and has a case fatality of 13-50%. CCHFV is a member of genus of Nairovirus, family Bunyaviridae. The classification of the Nairoviruses was originally based on their antigenic relatedness; however, the groupings have subsequently been substantiated through demonstration of morphological and molecular affinities between the viruses.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Mareddy, P: Hybrid approach for dg placement A1029265162
In the past few decades the distribution system(DS) is facing lots of problems like high losses, low voltages and poor reliability. In this context Distribution Generation(DG) turns out to be reliable in eliminating the problems of DS. Determining the location and capacity of DG is important. Studies have indicated that improper location and size of DG may leads to higher system losses. The book starts with a load flow solution to determine losses. A new hybrid method is proposed in the book which uses Fuzzy to determine candidate locations to place DG for minimum losses and high voltage improvement and then ABC algorithm to determine proper capacity of DG units at these locations for minimum losses. The effect of DG placement on DS reliability is also examined. This book is useful for professionals in power utilities ,research scholars and students of advanced courses in power systems.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Haji Razali, M: Automation and Mechanization in Agriculture A1020855865
This book consists of three research paper on application of technology in agriculture. It shows the engineering and mechanization concept that flow from laboratory to real application as need in agriculture sector. The testing was performed under laboratory control environment and dummy target point also was established to collect the actual data. To avoid the repeatedly process of training the image data and inefficient of capturing the image value, the colorspace value namely Hue is used as conducted in research paper number three. This study introduced the image based measurement for modeling the oil palm fresh fruit bunches (FFB) maturity prediction which enables the determination of the correct time for harvesting. The images were analysed for optical properties of Hue, using the analysis software that was developed at our research laboratory. The model is used to develop an equation for the software to enable the oil palm planters to determine the time of harvesting the matured oil palm fruit bunches in oil palm plantation.
LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing Hossain, M: Phytochemical Screening and the Evaluation A1032672000
Xylocarpus moluccensis is an important medicinal plant having widespread application in a variety of disorders. The aim of this study was the phytochemical investigation and evaluation of the anti-oxidant, analgesic and anti-microbial activities of the bark of Xylocarpus moluccensis. Phytochemical screening of the ethanolic extract of Xylocarpus moluccensis ensured the presence of carbohydrate, reducing sugar, combined reducing sugar, glycosides, tannins, alkaloids, proteins, terpenoids and flavonoids. The anti-oxidant activity was measured by DPPH free radical scavenging activity (IC50 = ~17 µg/ml). The crude ethanolic extract exhibited dose dependent analgesic activity at a dose of 250 mg/kg and 500 mg/kg with 34.4% and 62.8 % inhibition of writhing respectively. In anti-microbial activity test by disc-diffusion method the extract showed activity against the bacterial strains namely S. aureus, S. epidermidis, E. coli, S. dysenteriae and proteus species at the dose of 250 µg/disc and 500µg/disc in comparison with standard drug Ciprofloxacin (5 µg/disc).
